Year 2008, Burning The Boats and Love In Barcelona

Back in 2008, my life came to a screaming halt. It was not just the financial crisis that turned everything upside down for me, I decided to end my relationship as well. Enough was enough, after many difficult years, I decided I was not going to settle for anything less than what I wanted. So I sailed my boat to the other shore of committing to find a life partner that I could love, serve and take care of for the rest of her life, and on that day, I burnt the boat. There was no turning back.

I looked at what I had done in the past to achieve big outcomes in my life and took notes. First I needed to shift something in me. Knowing that all out there is a reflection of my mindset I decided to dive deep into my psychology to clear the pattern. Life showed me the way, on 3 separate occasions in three different locations with different people I stumbled across a way to deal with this once and for all.

Before I knew it I was on my way to the Netherlands to a workshop where I immersed myself for 7 days in clearing out my patterns that no longer served me, aligning myself with what I really wanted. It was transformational! 2 weeks later I was at an International Conference in Barcelona and while I was there I met her, the love of my life and future wife. The rest is history.

When you settle for less than you want, you always get less than what you settle for. My good friend John Pennay taught me that when I was training with him as an athlete. He was the World Champion at the time in Barefoot Waterskiing.

What are you settling for? What do you want? What do you REALLY want? Who is responsible for making that real in the world? If not you then who?
