The 3 Ways To Live A Life Of Courage Every Day

After being away for 3 months in the UK, Sweden, Switzerland, and Spain it is time to return home to The Bahamas. This Saturday my family and I will make the trip home via Canada as it is one of a few countries that provides a corridor to The Bahamas from Europe.

It is clear to me that in travelling and living freely while deep in the midst of a global pandemic, life is what you make of it. If you buy into F.E.A.R (False Evidence Appearing Real) then you let your 2 million-year-old brain take over.

It is our job to develop Emotional Fitness and to step into resourceful states that will help us live a great life. States like Courage, Happiness, Certainty, and Passion.

We either let the media, which broadcasts fear 24/7, hack our brainstems or we take charge of our emotions and mindset and live a life of greatness right now. Ultimately it is emotional fitness that determines our behaviour and the results we get in life.

How emotionally fit are you? Are you in charge of your emotions or are your emotions in charge of you? When you tell yourself to go, do you go for it, or do you hesitate? Are you able to lead yourself effectively and have you developed great habits that serve you daily?

The world needs leaders right now that are living freely, established in courage. That can lead themselves, are an example of what is possible for others and are super present. How are you doing? Are you feeling free in the midst of lockdowns and control or is your life being hijacked by fear and your 2 million-year-old brain?

Fear is the biggest virus on the planet right now. Here are 3 ways that you can be fearless and live a life of courage every day.

You are the only person that is in charge of your emotions. The only one that can decide what it is best to feel in any given moment. Here are 3 ways for you to get back in charge and take responsibility for living in a great state every day.

  1. Physiology – Stand the way you stand when feeling courage and certainty. Breathe the way you breathe, show me the face of courage, the look of certainty. Use your body to put yourself into a great state at any time.
  2. Focus – What you focus on is what you feel. Focus on what you want. See it in your mind’s eye. Take charge of where you put your attention. Write it down and most important WHY you want it. Your Why power drives your Will power.
  3. Meaning/Language – There is no meaning out there only the meaning you give it. Choose powerful, uplifting meanings every day. Speak of what it is you want. Speak of it the way you want it. Inspire people towards a compelling future, a meaningful bright future.

Practice makes permanent, repetition is the mother of learning. Practice getting into 3 resourceful states that will help you achieve what it is that you want. Tap into them daily until they become your emotional base, solid, strong, and consistent. This is Emotional Fitness and it is this that will set you free.
