Many of us don’t even try to become who we want to be because of fear of failure, settling for less. Or we try and give up after a couple of set backs. It took me 3 months to learn to barefoot water ski, every weekend I would be on the water practicing. I would listen to my coach, apply myself and fall. I would pick myself up, my coach would give me feedback, I would apply myself and fall again. We would celebrate every improvement and I learnt to ski longer distances with more control until eventually I conquered it, skiing for a full minute qualifying at a tender age of 12 to join the New Zealand club.
