Last week we deep-dived into finding your drivers or core values in the different contexts of your life. Our values are deeply unconscious and are in charge of our emotions, decisions and ultimately our behavior. They are the criteria we make choices upon in any given context. What is super important to us is where we spend our time, and where we spend our time drives our behavior. So our values govern our behavior.
Within our hard drive, or unconscious, we have software running, just like in our computer. These are programs that the unconscious uses to create our perception, experience, and behaviours, or in other words, the outputs. A computer does not work unless information is put into it, and then it creates an output. The same goes for us. Information is coming in through our five senses, and we then filter this information unconsciously through our unconscious mind, and on the screen of our mind, we get an experience. This experience is made up of pictures we see, sounds we hear, feelings we feel, both internally and externally, smells, tastes, and our internal dialogue or self- talk.
One of the most important things you can learn, if not THE most important thing you can learn in your life is how you work as a human being. We are not born with a user’s manual for the human brain. We are not taught how to get the best out of ourselves in all the years we go to school. Unless we are curious and seek to find out how to improve ourselves we may never know.
How can you proactively work with the most powerful computer in the world, your own self, to create top performance and achieve the results you want?
The way to do this is to work with your programs, the filters that determine your experience. What sort of movie is being projected onto the screen of your mind? As a consultant and coach, the most effective way to create change is to work with the person’s inner game and help them reprogram their software to create the results they want. If you are not getting what you want, you have some reprogramming to do in your own software.

A Trophic Cascade is an ecological process starting at the top of the food chain which tumbles down to the very bottom. The leaders of the ecological system, the whales of the ocean in this case, affect the whole eco-system and even its very ability to thrive or survive.
Today is Thanksgiving in the USA, one of if not the biggest holiday on the American calendar each year. It originates from giving thanks for the harvest providing food for the coming winter.
There is so much to be grateful for in this world and the attitude of gratitude is a very good one to cultivate in this modern age. Our attention is constantly being bombarded from TV, Movies, Phones, Social media and advertising just to name a few. All influences our mindset and focus.
Recently in the period of 24 hours, I was deeply touched by several examples of people’s level of commitment to serve others.
It started with the 100-year remembrance on Sunday of the end of World War 1. I was in Gatwick Airport in the UK at 11:00 am, the exact time the guns fell silent 100 years before. The airport stopped, all activity, employees and passengers stood still for 1 minute of silence. It was as if time froze. That minute was a long time and in that time I reflected on all of the young men who gave up their lives to serve a higher purpose, Freedom! I was deeply touched.
