By 2019 Volvo will no longer make cars with full carbon based engines, they will be all electric or hybrid. They are the first big car manufacturer to announce such plans. By 2040 France will have banned all carbon based fuel sources from its land. They are the first major country to commit to such a plan.

The USA as one of the world’s biggest energy consumers has decided to remove itself from the Paris Climate Agreement and alienate itself from the rest of the world. The world is heating up and the clear science proving that climate change is being influenced by man.

A group of scientists have set out a clear roadmap of what we need to achieve before 2050 and how the countries need to do that. Including cutting global CO2 emissions in half by 2030 and then in half again by 2040. We are now squarely in the middle of one of the greatest transitions that humanity will ever have to face.

“If we each take responsibility in shifting our own behavior, we can trigger the type of change that is necessary to achieve sustainability for our race or this planet. We change our planet, our environment, our humanity every day, every year, every decade, and every millennia.” – Yehuda Berg

The transition from the abuse of our planet to living in right relationship with her. From fueling our world with carbon based fuels to fueling our world with clean free energy. Our existence is at stake.

The decisions of our ancestors have lead us to this critical point in history where we all have to play a part in making this paradigm shift. Or, together face the severe consequences of our actions in the years to come. This is humanities greatest challenge right now, to get in right relationship with the planet.

There is no greater leadership activity than too play your part in this. To get in right relationship with the planet yourself, to be an example of what is possible in the world. In fact if you are a leader it is your utmost responsibility to not just be an example but to also speak up, educate, enrol and support others to do the same.

The only way we are going to turn things around is one person, one company, one country at a time. It starts with you and your influence. The question is, will you?
