The greatest of all Leaders are the one’s that are Transformational and Evolutionary in their style of leadership. We can all think of examples of great Leaders whom people wanted and loved to follow. Leaders that were positively inspirational.
There are many qualities that these leaders have in common and below are 5 you can recognise them by:
- Shifted from ‘Me to We’ in their thinking.
- Visionaries focused on the greater good.
- Encourage collaboration and togetherness.
- Keep their ego in check, and are super present & humble.
- Have integrity, are transparent, trustworthy.
This is Compassionate Leadership. Leadership in service to others supporting them in being all they can be. Leadership that places the well-being of all above the well-being of self alone. The paradox here is that to take care of others one needs to take care of oneself first to have the presence and energy to do so.

In my work, I meet Compassionate Leaders all the time. Leaders who are focused on supporting their team to be the best they can be. Or helping a specific leader to evolve their thinking a behaviour so they can be more transformational. Or creating a paradigm shift in how the business operates by taking care of the people to achieve corporate goals.
Leaders and companies hire me to support them in evolving the way people think and behave in business to create better results. Results that come by doing less and achieving more. By leading with compassion focused on the greater good. By thinking of ‘We’ ‘Together” and how we can get there.
The Need for Compassionate Leaders
The world is in dire need of compassionate Evolved Leaders who support others in being all they can be. Who show that they genuinely care. Who take into consideration the effects of their actions on the greater good. Who embody the change we want to see in the world and inspire us to follow them toward a meaningful vision that benefits all.
How can you be more compassionate as a leader today, tomorrow and in the months to come? What will you stop doing? What will you start doing? Take time to reflect on your behaviours and resolve to evolve your leadership today.
